Hao Liu

Here is Hao a designer, now studying at the University of the Arts Bremen
I often think about what role designers play in this world. I have been trying to find my own answer. During my work and study time, I found the importance of interaction in design. How to know more about people’s demands, optimize the experience, and try to use the design to bring people a better interactive process is the focus during my master’s degree.

This is a conversation between traditional craftsmanship and new materials. On this chair, you can’t find any nails or screws. The chair is a tenon-and-mortise structure.

This chair is composed of two materials. First of all, I chose beech wood for the frame part. It is a tree species that grows in the south. The density of the wood is larger and the hardness is relatively high. The color is clean and bright, and there are basically no large patterns.
For the fabric part, I chose washable kraft paper. This kind of paper has very high strength and can even be washed. It feels comfortable and the price is very cheap. There are many colors to choose from.

In terms of design style, I have retained some design features of Chinese chairs, such as symmetrical design and square frame. On this basis, I have added some of my own ideas.

Using the fabric stretched to the rear, the rear legs slightly inclined forward, and the low backrest to break the shape of the traditional seat. Try to create a new style.
And finally completed this work.
